Retinal Checks

retinal exam

A retinal examination, also known as an ophthalmoscopy or funduscopy, enables your doctor to examine the back of your eye, including the retina, optic disk, and the underlying layer of blood vessels that nourish the retina (choroid).

Every year, retinal health should be checked using dilation or retinal imaging. The majority of eye diseases have no obvious signs or symptoms at first and can only be detected during a thorough eye exam.
